The 28th annual Little Buckaroo Rodeo, sponsored by the Pioneer Days Rodeo Queen Association, is scheduled for June 2-7 at the Curry County mounted Patrol Arena.
Entry forms are available from Clovis/Curry Chamber of Commerce, Joe’s Boot Shop, Corral West Ranchwear, Gego’s and Tumbleweed Trading Post, as well as from LBR chairman Wilma Fulgham and from committee members. Entry deadlines of 5 p.m. on June 2 and June 3 will be bovserved with no late entries accepted.
The dealine for Saturday events including calf riding, mutton busting and dummy roping is 7:30 p.m. on June 3. Secretaries will be at the arena by 4 p.m. each day.
The LBR is intended to give boys and girls age 13 and under, including those with little or no experience, an opportunity to compete in a rodeo-oriented event.
A smll entry fee for each contestant goes to help with expenses and to further the Pioneer Days Rodeo queen pageant. Trophies will be awarded to winners in each event, with ribbons going to the second through sixth place finishers.
Trophies will also be awarded each to to the “Hard Luck” cowboy and cowgirl and All-Around cowboy and cowgirl.
