Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
After a two-vehicle crash about 9:45 a.m. on July 30 that slightly injured a 65-year-old Clovis woman, Clovis police cited a 19-year-old Clovis man for following too closely.
Police reported that the man was northbound on Prince Street in a GMC pickup when he saw a Chrysler four-door car ahead of him beginning to slow down and did not stop in time. The woman complained of neck pain but declined ambulance transport.
About 8 a.m. Friday, police responded to a domestic battery incident in a parked Chevy pickup. A 25-year-old Clovis man and 33-year-old Clovis woman were fighting over who would take the pickup truck for the day after the woman drove the man to work.
Police arrested both the man and the woman on charges of battery on a household member.
Clovis police arrested a 36-year-old Portales woman on drunk driving charges after seeing her vehicle weaving while driving her pickup truck on Grand Avenue about 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
The woman had an asthma attack while in the police car and had to be transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police responded about 2 a.m. Saturday morning to a burglary report at the 1000 block of Wallace.
A 23-year-old Clovis man said a man had come to his house Friday evening accusing him of having bought an electronic video game from a person named “Puppet.” When the resident returned, he found a window had been broken and the video game had been stolen.
Police arrested an 18-year-old Clovis boy about 8:30 p.m. Saturday for hitting and spitting on his mother at their home on the 1900 block of Sheldon.
According to police, the son had been arguing with his mother over her objections to his coming home late.
