Mr. Milton Autrey, 71, of Texico, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis.
He was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Mountainair, to Felix and Emlie Egger Autrey.
Mr. Autrey married Betsy Moore on June 16, 1952, in Clovis. He had been a resident of Texico since 1953. He owned and operated his own trucking company. Family members said he loved his daughters and grandchildren. He also loved to raise goats and chickens. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Texico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Phyllis Dawn; three brothers, Thurl, J. C. and F. E. Autrey; two sisters, Lorean Webb and Lucille Heacock.
He is survived by his wife, of Texico; three daughters, Betty Wagner (husband Frank) of Roswell, Connie Benton (husband Larry) of Pinon, and Linda Haile of Lubbock; three brothers, Ralph Autrey and Edward Autrey, both of Texico, and Everett Autrey of Grants; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Baptist Children’s Home in Portales.
Revs. Joel Horne and Rob Hollis will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Texico Cemetery in Texico.
Pallbearers will be Emmitt Autrey, Ronnie Autrey, Charles Rice, Bill Autrey, Fox Guinn and Galen Owen. Honorary pallbearers will be Murray White, Bud Pearce, Kenneth Wagner, Bryan Benton, Tyson Haile, John Wagner, Amanda Bradley, Kirk Benton, Roger Odegaard, Dee Brown, Jeff Brown and all his nieces and nephews.
