Mrs. Betty Jean Houston, 69, of Clovis, a salesperson, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1934, in House, to Forest Guy and Buna Smith Franklin.
She married Glenn Jack Houston on May 21, 1952, in Clovis. She worked as a saleslady for the Blueroom. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and two sisters, Ruth Lomas and Irene Franklin.
She is survived by a daughter, Gwen Petersen of Topeka, Kan.; a son, Rodney Houston of Clovis; a sister, Della Mitchell of Clovis; three grandchildren, Cari Willard of Topeka, Keli Likins of Tampa, Fla. and T.S. Likins IV of Topeka; and a great-granddaughter, Molly Willard of Topeka.
The Rev. Gene Christian will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be T.S. Likins, Shane, Mark and Chad Allen, Gary and Leon Mitchell and Wayne Lomas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
