Mr. Lawrence Thurman Maberry, 78, of Clovis, a retired bank president, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Carillon House in Lubbock.
He was born on May 25, 1925, in Perry, to Earl and Zelma Maberry.
He served in World War II in the Navy SeaBees. He started working at Clovis National Bank as a bookkeeper in 1946 and retired as president in 1995. He was past president of Kiwanis club and served on the Committee of Fifty at Cannon Air Force Base and as an elder at 16th and Pile Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Nellie.
He is survived by two brothers, Ray Maberry (and wife, Betty) of Portales and Harold Maberry (Darlene) of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Earlene Gunnels of Las Cruces; two daughters, Marilena Brigham of Lubbock and Jonalee Echols of Bullard, Texas; a son Curtis Maberry (DeLynn) of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and seven grandchildren, Kimberly and Dave Crozier and Kent Brigham, all of Lubbock, Micah and Melissa Maberry, both of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Kaylen and Cameron Echols, both of Bullard, Texas.
Curtis Maberry and Jim Gammon will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Bob Hawkins, Bobby Newman, Bob Norris and Doug, Doyle and Mark Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Yarborough, Randy Harris, Ribble Holloman and the elders of 16th and Pile Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the 16th and Pile Church of Christ, the Sunset International Bible Institute or a favorite charity.
