Mr. Edward “Eddie” Nolet, 82, of Lakeland, Fla., died Monday, July 7, 2003, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 4, 1921, in Lawrence, Mass.
He was an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He married Charlotte Thornton on Aug. 5, 1944, in Louisiana. He spoke French fluently and as assigned as pilot instructor for the French cadets during World War II. He was employed with Southwestern Public Service in Clovis until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, American Legion Post No. 4, Elk’s Lodge No. 1291 and Knights of Columbus. Family members said he is remembered for his incredible smile, twinkling blue eyes and a laugh that touched everyone.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Bartye Cornell of Green Bay, Wis., and Brenda Myers of Albuquerque; two brothers, Ernest Nolet of West Virginia and Leo Nolet of New Hampshire; a sister, Rita Ducheneau of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.
