Alvino Lopez Sr., 63, of Farwell, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, in Friona, Texas.
He was born on Dec. 16, 1939, in Fort Quitman, Texas, to Nicholas Ruiz and Maria Refugio Lopez.
He married Maria Duran on Jan 8, 1962 in El Paso, Texas. They moved to the Farwell area in 1966. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and San Jose Catholic Community and was a volunteer fireman in Farwell.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Alvino Lopez Jr. (and wife, Cindy) of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Jacob Lopez of San Antonio, Texas and Abel Lopez of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two daughters, Irene Lopez of Littlefield, Texas and Jeannie Brigham of Farwell; an aunt, Josefa Loera of Texico; an uncle, Eduardo Lopez of Fresno, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community in Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Cemetery in Farwell.
Pallbearers will be Alvino Jr., Jacob, Abel and Jake Lopez, Hector Perez and Felix Loera.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crown of Texas Hospice.
