Benjamin Franklin Pritchett Jr., 81, of Mineral Wells, Texas, a retired principal and teacher, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at a Mineral Wells hospital.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1922, in Phoenix to Benjamin F. Sr. and Cora Lea Brandon Pritchett.
He married Christine Ferguson on Nov. 7, 1944, in Weatherford, Texas.
He was a decorated Marine veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart and the Navy Cross. He was involved in ranching and was a former border patrol agent. He lived in Mineral Wells for 14 years and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Sue Klindera; a brother, Ray Pritchett; and a sister, Noma Kramer.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Pritchett (and wife, Crystal) of Portales and Ben F. Pritchett III (Danna) of Clovis; two daughters, Virginia Pritchett of Mineral Wells and Kristy Pritchett (David Heeren) of Mount Vernon, Iowa; grandchildren, Lisa Wilbanks, Angie Tapia, Brandon Pritchett (Jessica), Seth Pritchett (Abby), Lindsay Pritchett, Justin Klindera, Sara Heeren, Ben Pritchett IV, John William Pritchett and Lauryn and Jacelyn Wilbanks; six sisters, Ima Low, Ruth Dumas, Jean Twaddle, Margaret Toler, Barbara Williams and Mary Brown.
The Rev. David Montoya officiated the services.
Burial was at Memory Gardens in Parker County, Texas, with military honors.
Arrangements were Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home of Mineral Wells.
