PNM awarded $1,000 to provide a Clovis teacher with additional tools for teaching about water use in New Mexico, according to a news release.
The program funded was “A Report Card on Green Acres,” proposed by Terry Pipkin of Highland Elementary School.
Students will investigate Green Acres, a collection spot for the community’s run-off and stopping point for migratory birds. Based on the water quality findings, the class will create a service project to improve the site and benefit the community.
