Mr. Claud Clyde Schiller, 95, of Clovis, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1908, in Sayre/Doxey, Okla., to O.R. and Rae Schiller.
He attended Electrical College in Chicago in 1926 and 1927. He married Esther Marie Blackburn on June 23, 1929, in Sayre, Okla. They settled in the Clovis area in 1946. He was a member and deacon at Ranchvale Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Houston “Bob” Schiller; his wife; and a sister, Genieve George.
Survivors include four granddaughters, Nancy Saltzburg (and husband, Gary) and Patsy Tankersley (Paul), all of Clovis, Joyce Swackhammer (David) of Levelland, Texas, and Janice Cross (David) of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter-in-law, Polly Schiller Baker (Ray) of Clovis; a sister, Lucille Jackson of Globe, Ariz.; a brother, Leroy Schiller of Longview, Wash.; six great-granddaughters, Shelley Thetford of Levelland, Texas, Tracee Gregg of Clovis, Stacey Samaniego of Lubbock, Sherri Campos of Albuquerque, Heather Cross of Austin, Texas, and Keli Cross of Anchorage, Alaska; two great-grandsons, Kevin Tankersley of Phoenix and Justin Saltzburg of Clovis; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services assisted by Greg Martin.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff at Laurel Ridge Healthcare.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home in Portales or to a favorite charity.
