James Lee “Jimmy” Edmonds, 66, of Belen died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, in Albuquerque.
He was born on July 28, 1937, in Portales to Don and Faye Edmonds.
He attended Grady schools. He worked for Hadley for 27 years, retiring seven years ago. He was a member of the New Mexico Chapter of the Teamsters Union #492 and the New Mexico Mule Association.
Family members said he enjoyed racing chariot mules, loved to go to the lake and had numerous boats throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe Don Edmonds; and an infant sister, Delores Jean.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Edmonds; the mother of his children, Joyce Edmonds; a daughter, Jenee Beck (and husband, Lonnie) of Belen; four sons, Jim Tom (J.T.) Edmonds of Belen, Jeff Edmonds (Karole) of Los Lunas, Curt Scott and J.B. Lucero, both of Belen; a brother, Jack Edmonds (Jessie) of Dora; a sister, Norene Spriggs (Kenneth)of Dallas; and several grandchildren.
The Rev. Boyd Moran officiated the services.
Burial was at the Happy, Texas, Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Riverside Funeral Home of Belen.
