Edith Mae Akers, 93, of Clovis, a seamstress, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1910, in Dora, Nolan County, Texas, to George R. and Willie Bloxom Sagely.
She married William L. Akers on Oct. 17, 1931, in Clovis. She was a resident of Pleasant Hill where she farmed with her husband. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Good Sams and the Senior Citizens Square Dance Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Ida Mae Martin; and five sisters, Inez Landers, Emily Hargas, Fern Weber, Anna Belle Edwards and Maxine Sagely.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Dianna Boatman (and husband, Charles) of Clovis and Dalene Call (Keith) of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three great-grandsons, Paul Cash (Bonnie) and Lukas Cash, all of Portales, and Kyle Call of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and a sister, Bennie Perry of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Pastor Larry Tedrow will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Honorary pallbearers are all her friends and neighbors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church.
