Jean Hudson, 79, of Clovis, a homemaker, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on March 15, 1924, in Texana, Okla., to James and Mary Lee Dorris.
She moved to Clovis when she was 4 and became orphaned at the age of 10. She married Mitchell Hudson on Dec. 10, 1938, in Portales. They were devoted to each other until his death. Family members said she loved to fish and was a member of Central Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Frances Spring and Mildred Dorris; and a brother, Sam Dorris.
Survivors include a niece, Mary Williams (and husband, Raymond) of Clovis; two great-nieces, Shirley Townsend (Bob) of Clovis and Janet Froeschle (Joe) of Corpus Christi, Texas; three great-great-nieces, Gayle, Audrey and Heather Froeschle; two great-great-nephews, James and Jeremy Townsend; two nephews, Jim Dorris of Montana and Don Spring (Gladys) of Bovina, Texas; and a special friend, Lois Malloy of Clovis.
Rob Pitcock will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Joe Champouillon, Sam Kelley, Rob Pitcock, Leon Tiffin, David Williams and Larry Tedrow.
Honorary pallbearers are Virgil Echols and Gene Brian.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
