Grady Alpha Club
The Grady Alpha Club met on March 2, 2004, at the Grady Senior Citizens with Maxine Grau and Margie Woods as hostesses. The program was bow making by Linda Brown.
Katy McKechnie, president, called the meeting to order at 1:35 p.m. with 10 members present. Prayer requests were honored. The Nite Owls, entertainers, were discussed for the Club Exchange which will be held at 5 p.m. on March 24 at the Senior Citizens Building. Katy McKechnie will call the committee members to finalize the plans. The Membership Event will be at 5:30 p.m. on April 6 at the Extension Building at the fairgrounds. The Grady Club will serve the potluck meal. Maxine Kelso will get our door prize for the event. Linda Brown showed the club how to make beautiful bows. As always the club finished the day with refreshments and visiting.
The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. on April 6 at the Grady Senior Citizens with Mildred Moyers and Mary Frances Burnett as hostesses.
The Melrose 4-H Club met Jan. 19. President Brynna Kos called the meeting to order. Cory Allen led the American pledge and the 4-H pledge was led by Meredith Sanders. Chaplain Wesley Hollaway gave the invocation. The Secretary/ Reporter Christi Allen read roll call and the minutes. The treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Megan Sanders.
Under old business, we reviewed our Constitution and By-laws. Gayle Nash passed out copies of changes that the committee wanted to present to the group. The group looked over them. Spenser Johnson made a motion to suspend Article VI of the current constitution. The motion was seconded by Brock Graham, who then moved to adopt the revisions presented by the committee and the motion passed.
The new business of the meeting consisted of asking for volunteers to water plants at the Melrose Park. Elizabeth Green volunteered to water the plants on Jan. 24.
Movie passes were awarded to those who did record books last year: Meredith and Megan Sanders, Cody Fullerton, Lucas and Logan Screws, Brock and Graham and Brynna Kos.
The next meeting was to be Feb. 23.
Meredith Sanders moved to adjourn the meeting. Brock Graham seconded the motion.

Wesley Hollaway led the invocation. The roll call and the minutes were read by Christi Allen. Meredith Sanders read the treasurer’s report.
In the items of old business Christi Allen reported on the officer-training workshop.
In new business the club will hold the concession stand on June 18 and 19. Gayle Nash explained to the club about the parent leader fundraiser and dance. The next club meeting will be March 15.
