All candidates planning to run in the June primary must file with the county clerk or the Santa Fe office of the Secretary of State by 5 p.m. today.
Candidates who are running for county offices or with only one county in their districts may file in the county clerk’s office. Candidates with more than one county in their districts must file in the Secretary of State’s office.
To file, a candidate must have his or her required number of petition signatures and a declaration of candidacy. The required number of signatures can be found in the candidates’ guide.
To be eligible, a person must have been registered under a party listing and by the name under which he or she plans to run by Jan. 26. If running for a commission district, the person must be living in and registered in that district by Jan. 26.
