Elaine Hunton, 54, of Clovis died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Farwell Convalescent Center.
She was born on June 10, 1949, in Clovis to Carroll D. and Wenonah Thorn Hunton.
She graduated from Portales High School in 1968 and from Draughan’s Business College in Lubbock. She served in the U.S. Army as a legal secretary stationed at Fort Bliss. She worked as a civil service employee for the Forest Service in Seal Beach, Calif., and then at Cannon Air Force Base as a member of the demolition utilization (DRMO) team. She volunteered as a civil service employee to go to Saudi Arabia and the Azores. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Hunton Bowman, and her grandfather, A.G. Thorn.
Survivors include a son, Jason Todd Hunton of Clovis; her parents; two brothers, David Thorn Hunton of Portales and Thomas Carroll Hunton of Bakersfield, Calif.; her grandmother, Irene Thorn of Lazbuddie, Texas; six nephews; a niece; and a great-nephew.
David Hunton and Jim Gammon will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lazbuddie Cemetery.
