Break has sprung for Clovis schools

Spring break for Clovis Municipal Schools is Monday through Friday this week.
The schools have no plans for spring break, said Evelyn Gordon, receptionist of Clovis Municipal Schools Administrative Offices.
“Everybody has their own plans,” Gordon said.
Amy Garcia, a teacher at Yucca Junior High School, said she plans to stay home.
“All I’m going to do is clean house, and yeah, I’m looking forward to it, because I don’t ever get to,” Garcia said.
“I don’t know what my friends are going to do,” she said. “All I know is I’m staying home. A lot of teachers are planning to stay at home.”
Susie Armijo, receptionist at Bella Vista Elementary School, said she plans to play.
“I am playing in the dirt,” she said. “I’m going to get my flower beds ready.”
Dawn Cheney of Clovis plans to go out of town and take the family with her.
“We are going to visit Stephenville, Texas, and go to the parks, where they have live animals, like giraffes and ostriches that you can drive past and feed out of the car,” Cheney said.
Her two sons, David and George, and her daughter, Shelbielynn, all will go to the lake with her, she said.
“And that’s it,” Cheney said. “I like the outdoors as much as they do.”
