Less than three weeks from the annual Smoke on the Water fireworks show, coordinator Tom Martin said about 60 percent of the needed funds have been donated.
Martin said about $12,000 in donations have come in for the show, which costs about $20,000.
“Being at that $20,000 level … allows us to have an electronic show … which is more synchronized. And it allows it to be synchronized with music, which has a really neat effect,” Martin said.
Martin said he is a little concerned but confident about funding.
“Every year the community has come through, and every year our businesses support Smoke on the Water. I’m just acting on good faith that contributions will come in at the level they have in the past,” Martin said.
Contributions for the event can be mailed to the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce, 215 N. Main St., Clovis 88101 with an earmark for “Smoke on the Water.”
