Karen Guanell, 38, of Clovis, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1965, in Princeton, N.J., to Leonard David, Jr. and Norma Heirigs Walters.
She graduated from Butte High School in Butte, Mont. in 1983 and then attended Arizona State University. She worked various management positions at the Regency and Hyatt Resorts in Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her father, her grandparents and an infant brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Alasyn Mathea of Clovis; her mother, Norma Walters of Clovis; a brother, Christopher Walters (and wife, Sherry) of Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Claire Stowers (Mike, Lt Col. USAF); and their children, Clifton Walters, Morgan and Samuel Stowers, all of Niceville, Fla; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton, S.D.
Burial will be at St. Boniface (Idylwilde) Cemetery in rural Freeman, S.D.
