Eula Jeanie Starkey, 53, of Clovis, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1950, in Clovis, to Robert J. “Bob” and Celo Davis Starkey.
She was a telephone operator for ENMR/Plateau for 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She lived in Dallas for eight years and at Conchas Dam for one year before returning to Clovis. Family members said she loved to crochet and in her younger years she loved to ride horses and swim. She always had a smile and looked at the bright side of life. She loved hearing from and visiting with many friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandparents.
Survivors include a sister, Nina Kay Allen (and husband, Freddie) of Clovis; two brothers, Robert “Bob” D. Starkey (Janie) of Mesquite, Texas and John “Eddie” Starkey (Vicie) of Clovis; four nieces, Kathy E. Lester of Washington, Jennifer M. Starkey and Melissa S. Starkey and Krystal K. Allen, all of Clovis; two nephews, Robert E. Starkey of Oklahoma and Jimmy Terrell of Georgia; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
The family will be at 800 North Oak in Clovis.
Steve McElroy will officiate the services.
Cremation will take place.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
