Juan C. Marquez Sr., 82, of Belen, died Wednesday, July 14, 2004.
He worked as a boilermaker with AT&SF for more than 35 years, retiring in 1980. He spent his retirement years pursuing his passion of farming and raising cattle.
He was preceded in death by daughters Mary Marquez, Florinda Cordova and Neva Brady; son Rudy Marquez Sr.; grandson Joshua Trujeque; and great-grandson Zachary Zambrano.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Louisa; son, Chris Marquez; wife, Judy; daughters Gloria Montano (husband Max), Carmen Marquez, Corina Trujeque (Paul), Esther Trujillo and her husband Dennis, Jean Ruof and her husband Jim, Lori Kurtz and her husband James; daughter-in-law Lena Marquez; son-in-law Mike Brady; 32 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Rosary were held Friday at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel.
A final visitation was held Saturday at Our lady of Belen Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Parish Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jaime Marquez, Roman Marquez, Jeremy Trujeque, Anthony Trujillo, Brian Ruof, and Sebastian Kurtz.
Honorary pallbearers were all of his other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
