2/21 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Police were transporting a subject Thursday to the juvenile detention center. At the detention facility the officer let the subject out in front of him and he began running away in handcuffs.

The officer pursued the subject on foot. While in pursuit, the officer tripped and suffered minor scrapes on his hand.

When the officer caught up with the subject in the 700 block of Gidding Street, the subject was lying down against building in that block, apparently out of breath.

The officer grabbed the subject by the right wrist and commanded him to get up, which he refused.

Police were able to get the subject to his feet and back in a patrol unit, at which point they transported him back to the juvenile detention center.
