Felicitas Serna, 80, of Bovina, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on March 30, 1924, in Donna, Texas, to Gervacio and Isabel Marroquin Olivares.
She was a Bovina resident since 1962, moving from Weslaco, Texas. She married Luis Serna Sr. on Dec. 16, 1940, in Donna, Texas. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and the Guadalapina’s Society. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them.
She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers; two sisters; a grandson, Andy Serna Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Janie Serna.
Survivors include five sons, Andres Serna of Bovina, Luis Serna Jr. of El Paso, Texas, Antonio Serna of Bovina, Ruben Serna of Temecula, Calif., and Tomas Serna of Texico; seven daughters, Audelia Serna, Elodia Serna, Irma Hernandez, Yolanda Ramon, and Anita Bonham, all of Bovina, Olga Camara of Fall River, Mass., and Juanita Serna of Springfield, Va.; a brother, Ricardo Olivarez of Donna, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Father David Contreras and Father Juan Carlos Barragon will officiate the services.
A rosary is scheduled 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina.
Burial will be at Bovina Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bovina.
