Antonio Griego “Tony” Coronado, 88, of Clovis, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on June 5, 1916, in Puerto de Luna, to Juan and Adelina Griego Coronado.
He married Josie R. Rivera in 1992 in Clovis. He was a section foreman for AT&SF railroad in Ft. Sumner until he retired in 1978. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Family members said he loved listening to country music, dancing, doing yard work, and watching western movies at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosa Roybal Coronado; two daughters, Nora Aragon and Maxine Pena; three sons, Johnny, Gilbert and Jerry Coronado; and two step-sons, Manuel and Frankie Lopez.
Survivor include his wife; two sons, Tony Coronado Jr. of Clovis and LeRoy M. Coronado (and wife, Diana) of Artesia; two daughters, Gloria Sena (Richard) of Fort Sumner and Tina Coronado of Portales; seven step-sons, Ray Lopez (Yolanda), Chris Lopez (Gloria), Eloy Lopez (Janie), Cecil Lopez (Nancy), Alex Lopez (Josie), Fredrick Lopez (Barbara), and Rito Lopez (Debbie), all of Clovis; six step-daughters, Priscilla Templeman (Rick) of Ruidoso, Polly Garcia (Victor) and Terrie Menendez (Mark), all of Riverside, Calif., Mary Jane Lopez of Clovis, Linda Martinez (Luis) of Amarillo and Esther Garcia (Fred) of Artesia; 83 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will follow be at Ft. Sumner Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Juan, Ricky Ray and Sarafin Lopez, Paul and Emilo Coronado, and Eric Muller.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
