Loyd Routon, 83, of Oklahoma Lane, died Tuesday, April, 26, 2005, in Stanton, Texas.

He was born on May 16, 1921, in Goree, Texas, to Dan Emmit and Cleo Routon.

He moved to Oklahoma Lane from Goree in 1947. He married Francis Marie Brown on Nov. 25, 1940, in Oklahoma City. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Eagles in Clovis, and the AmVets. He was a farmer and a member of the Oklahoma Lane Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter, Joyce; and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, David Routon (and wife, Carol) of Wichita, Kan.; three daughters, Janice Vaughn (Virgil) of Turlock, Calif., Julie Berney of Oklahoma Lane, and June Carpenter (Kenneth) of Stanton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Randy Thomas will officiate the services.

Burial will be at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery.
