Mr. Eloy Tafoya, 85, of Clovis, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
He was born on April 22, 1920, in Tafoya, to Samuel and Emma Tafoya.
He worked as a farmer and rancher. Family members said he loved being a cowboy and was an honorable, hard-working man who was loved by many. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, VFW Post 3015, and American Legion Post 25.
He was prededed in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline; two brothers, Rudy Tafoya and Ben Tafoya; and a son, Rudy Tafoya.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Gurlue of Albuquerque and Jennifer Chaparro of Clovis; two sons, Donald Tafoya of Belen and Johnny Tafoya of Santa Rosa; five sisters, Lydia Kiawa of Glendale, Ariz., Dora Fernandez of Pueblo, Colo., Esther Briseno of Des Moines, Iowa, Teles Duran of Raton, and Virginia Lopez of Glendale, Ariz.; a brother, Ernest Tafoya of Raton; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Gary Marez, Edward Menedez, Christopher Chavez, Ruben, Joe, Jerry and Isabel Chaparro, and Joe Rivas.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
