The young child removed from a Cannon Air Force Base residence May 2 was in a home filled “with a strong odor of feces and urine,” according to a police report from the incident.

According to the report, the female child is 1 years old.

She was conscious when Child Youth and Families Department workers and a sheriff’s deputy arrived, however she was “very lethargic” and appeared to be dehydrated, the report stated.

Additionally, it appeared the child had been wearing the same diaper for some time, and had a serious rash, the report stated.

Information given to the responding officer indicated the father of the child could not be located at work.

The report also said he was a single parent.

The child was transported to the hospital in an ambulance and CYFD took custody of her, officials said.

Air Force officials have said for privacy reasons they would not release “information about CYFD intervention affecting Air Force families.”

The names of the father and child were excluded from the sheriff’s report for privacy reasons, officials said.
