Paula “Marie” Moreno, 71, of Clovis, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1933, in Clovis, to Tom and Paula Trujillo.
She married Jose Robert Moreno on July 21, 1950, in Clovis. She worked for Curry County in the clerk’s office, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and El Monterey Restaurant. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, American Veterans Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
Family members said she enjoyed shooting pool and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son; two grandsons; a great-grandson; a brother; a sister; and a son-in-law, Mike Garcia.
Survivors include five daughters, Loretta M. Garcia and Theresa Carrasco (and husband, Moises), all of San Antonio, Texas, and Liz Moreno, Patsy Urioste (Mike) and Pearl Moreno, all of Clovis; four sons, Chris Moreno of San Antonio, Mario Moreno and Johnny Moreno (Debbie), all of Clovis, and Stephen Moreno (Melissa) of Denver; two sisters, Marcella White of Clovis and Judy Olona of Las Cruces; a brother, Tommy Trujillo of Clovis; 39 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers are Michael Urioste, Angel Maeda, Fabian Martinez, J.D., Christian and Larry Moreno, O.J. Lopez and Larry Rokosz.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
