DFA farmers back Cannon effort

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc., have joined “Operation Keep Cannon,” a grassroots campaign to keep Cannon Air Force Base, according to a DFA press release.

“DFA’s dairy farmers don’t want to see the base close,” said Wayne Palla, Clovis dairy farmer and chairman for DFA’s Southwest Area Council. “We are huge supporters of this community and the military, which have always encouraged dairy farmers in this region.”

Palla said DFA will file a formal letter with the Department of Defense in support of keeping the base open because of the economic impact Cannon has on the area.
