Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Norris Carter, 65, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at her home in Clovis.
She was born Jan. 9, 1940, in Clovis, New Mexico to Onis “OB” and Edith Norris.
She graduated from Clovis High in 1958. She married William “Bill” Clark Carter on Feb. 8, 1958 in Clovis and they had two children. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Clovis and sang for many years in the choir. She was a successful homemaker, as Beth loved her family and was most happy making her house a home to them, as well as to her many friends. She was “mom” not only to her kids, but to many of their friends. She never turned away from those in need. Her home had a revolving door.
She loved playing with her kids and grandchildren, doing various crafts, and working in the yard, “therapy” as she called it. She also enjoyed working at Beall’s, playing on her computer, and visiting with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, William “Bill” Clark Carter of the home; a son, William “Ray” Carter and his wife Frances of Bloomfield; one daughter, Anita C. Bell of Layton, Utah; a sister, Lillian “Gail” Wagner of Clovis; and two grandchildren, Christian and Erika Carter.
Rev. Wayne Salguero will officiate.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers are John N. Wagner, Derrick Smith, Michael Smith, Darvel Kirby, Jack Dawson and John Parke.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.
