Helen Craig, 90, of Clovis, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born on April 10, 1915, in Kansas City, Mo., to George and Lela Wyson Summers.
She married Clyde Craig on August 21, 1936, in Belen.
Her family members said she was a stalwart of Christian living. She raised four boys and was an avid artist and did well both in oil and water paints. She also enjoyed to read and has read every Louis Lamour book and also enjoyed reading poetry. She worked as a Harvey Girl in Belen and Las Vegas, and Winslow, Ariz. Prior to that she was a school teacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Harold Craig; and a sister, Florence Summers Childs.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (and wife, Ima Jo) Craig, Nolan Craig (Shirley), and Ted Craig (Sylvia); a daughter-in-law, Sharon Craig; a brother, Raymond Summers (Bert); a sister, Catherine Summers Jackman; six grandsons, Stanley Craig (Janda), Steve Craig, Scott Craig (Kellie), William Walter Craig (Becky), Marcus Andrew Craig (Jennifer) and Wayne Harold Craig (Lorie); five granddaughters, Darlene Jones (Ron), Rachel Craig, Jane Craig, Nancy Wimberly (Donnie) and Elaine Coleman (David) ; great-grandchildren, Luke and Mark Craig, Robert, Allison and Nicholas Craig, Christina Marie and Ann Lynn Hurtig Craig, Ashley Lynn and Lauren Alexis Craig, Jordan and Devan Craig, Rachel and Ryan Jones and Tesha Wimberly and Mark McCall.
Cecil Bunch will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
