Elvyn Earl Tredway, 72, of Clovis, died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1933, in Walnut, Kan., to Sidney and Della Tredway.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Jauntier Seared in 1956, in Fort Scott, Kan. He moved his family to Clovis in the fall of 1959. He retired from Lucerne “Safely” Milk Plant after 23 years.
Family members said he loved his horses, fishing, and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; a daughter, Vicky Tredway; and a foster son, Alan “Red” Patterson.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Joann Hembree (and husband, Jack) of Fort Scott, Kan.; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Tredway and Ellen Tredway, both of Kansas, and Carol Moore (Paul) of Pawhuska, Okla.; three sons, Jerry Tredway (Dianna) of Ohio, Danny Tredway (Shannon) of Windsor, Va., and Johnny Tredway (Fern) of Clovis; two daughters, Debra Knowlden (Michael) and Kattie Tredway, all of Clovis; a foster son, Rodney Brown (Samudra) of La Veta, Colo.; a foster daughter, Mary Gallegos (Gilbert) of Albuquerque; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jon Forrest will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Cremation has taken place.
Honorary pallbearers include Frank and Earlene Dalton, Robert and Charlsa LeClear, Kip DeFoor, Dustin Higginbotham, Gene Bargass, Robert Fields and Safeway Milk Plant employees.
The family will be at 1358 Rose Dr., south of Clovis.
