ENMU men finish eighth in Lobo Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE — Sophomore Felix Boit led a balanced Eastern New Mexico University men’s performance Saturday as the Greyhounds finished eighth in the 14-team Lobo Invitational cross country meet, hosted by the University of New Mexico.

Meantime, the ENMU women finished 12th out of 13 teams. Division II power Adams State swept both team titles.

Boit posted a time of 27 minutes, 26 seconds, placing 60th in a field of 159 runners in the eight-kilometer run. ENMU put four runners between 60th and 77th place.

Leading the Zias in the 6K women’s race was Krista Monaghan, 72nd in a time of 25:24.

Volleyball — At Austin, Texas, ENMU continued to struggle, dropping to 0-6 for the season with a 30-28, 30-26, 30-26 loss to St. Mary’s in their final match in the Heartland/Lone Star Challenge on Saturday.

Junior Grace George had 16 kills and five block assists for the Zias, who went 0-3 in the weekend event. Senior Lindsay Schiely colected 10 kills and a solo block.

Maegan Lowry collected 14 kills for the Lady Rattlers (6-5).
