Mr. Clifford Bruno, 79, of Portales, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 in Portales.
He was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Beckley, W. Va., to Theresa and Pete Bruno. He grew up in West Virginia, where he attended school. He entered the U.S. Army at 16 and spent his career in the military where he served as a military police, warrant officer, and helicopter pilot. He served during World War II, Korea and served two terms in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged from active service in 1968. He had worked for several years as a carpenter in Ruidoso.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Bruno of Portales; three sons, Danny Cranford of Portales, Rocky Cranford (and wife, Julia) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Robbie Cranford (Kris) of Portales; four daughters, Delores Womack of Bryant, Ark., Linda Giddings (Kurt) of Portales, Sharon Johnson (Jeff) of Portales and Dianne Allen (Kenneth) of Adelanto, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Taylor of Houston, Texas.
Burial will take place in Portales Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kurt Giddings, Dakota McDaniel, Lucas Cranford, Danny Cranford, Robbie Cranford, Jeff Johnson, and Brian Giddings.
