Michael “Mike” Edwin Jones, 56, of Wolfforth, Texas, died Oct. 31, 2005, at a Lubbock hospital.
He was born Dec. 19, 1948, in Portales to Arthur and Jewell (Woodward) Jones. He graduated high school from Roswell Military Institute. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from Eastern New Mexico University and a master’s degree from Wayland Baptist University.He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1972 as a medic. He married Rebecca “Beci” Moody on Jan. 1, 1972, in Hobbs. They settled in Lubbock in 1986. He retired in 2001.
Family members say he had many talents, owned his own business, had a passion for telecommunication and real estate sales, and enjoyed reading, fishing and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Michelle Forest (and husband, Bill) of Midland, Texas; two sons, Brian Michael A. Jones of Greenville, S.C., and Christopher Michael A. Jones (Melissa) of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers; two sisters; his mother, Jewell Jones Swisher; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (MST) at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock.
The Rev. Mark McMillan will officiate at burial services.
