Clovis man indicted in baby death
A Clovis man was indicted by a grand jury on Monday for the child abuse and death of a 10-month-old Clovis baby, according to a release from the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Leroy “Roy” Jaramillo, 42, was charged in connection with the October 2004 shaken baby death of Christyan Ibarra, which occurred in a Clovis hotel room, the release said.
Jaramillo was arrested Dec. 21 after a phone call tipped authorities off to his whereabouts. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Nov. 9.
Jaramillo is being held at the Parmer County Adult Detention Center on $130,000 cash bond, said an official from the Curry County Adult Detention Center on Monday.
Jaramillo faces up to 18 years in jail, if convicted, and will be arraigned in the next 30 days, the release said.
