A 50-year-old Clovis man was sentenced Wednesday to 12 years in jail for molesting a female juvenile family member in 2003, according to a release from the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Billy Martin was found guilty of four counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under 13 years old.

Co-defendant Anastacio Esquibel was sentenced in June 2005 to 20 years in prison for numerous counts of criminal sexual penetration and contacts of a minor, according to the release.

Martin is considered a “serious violent offender” and must serve 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole, the released said.
