Charles R. Bowers, 69, of Farwell, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Lubbock Heart Hospital in Lubbock.
He married Belva Christian in 1963 in Englewood, Calif. He was a resident of the Farwell area for the past 13 years. He moved there from Lindsay, Calif. He retired from Clovis Public Schools as a custodian in 1999. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, Joe Bowers and Mike Martin; daughter, Denise Byrd; and two brothers, Michael and Tommy Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Belva; daughters, Gerri Bowers of Farwell and Tiffany Bowers of Chowchilla, Calif.; mother, Irene Bowers of Visalia, Calif.; brother, Steve Martin of Oklahoma; and eight sisters, Ella Burdick of Fresno, Calif., Linda Martin of Visalia, Calif., and Billie Ruthe Huff, Larue Parker, Lawana Lewis, Anawak Barnes, Darlene Martin and Lynette Martin, all of Oklahoma.
Interment will be at a later date.
Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
