Mr. Norman Wayne Nelson, 60, of Clovis died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 21, 1945, in Dothan, W. Va., to Herman and Belle Bragg Nelson.
He married Layne Kegel Sept. 7, 1974, in North Miami, Fla. He moved to New Mexico from Pennsylvania 24 years ago. He had been service manager for Watson Motor Co. the past five years and previously at Richard Barton.
He was an avid collector of baseball cards, football cards and coins, family members said. He loved children and was licensed in Curry County as a foster parent, family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol.
He is survived by wife; a son, Matthew Nelson (and wife, Wendy) of Roswell; two daughters, Julie Nelson of Clovis and Lisa Nelson of Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Marc, Mathew and Mikel Nelson; a brother, a Gary Nelson of West Virginia; two sisters, Dixie and Nancy of Canton, Ohio; a mother-in-law, Shirley Kegel of Virginia; a brother-in-law, Donn Kegel (Nancy) of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Dick Ross will officiate services.
Honorary pallbearers are his family, friends and co-workers.
