Eva Casaus, 85, of Fort Sumner, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at Arbor Creek Care Center in Albuquerque.
She was born June 29, 1920, in Borica, to Enriques and Natividad Garcia. She was raised in Guadalupe County. Family members said she loved to dance, listen to Spanish music and be with her family. She was a lifelong Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso; and brother, Emilio Garcia.
Survivors include her daughters, Nellie Oldham (and her husband, Dennis) of Albuquerque, Geraldine Minton (Bucky) of Fort Sumner, Helen Martinez of Albuquerque, Gloria Landreth (Bryan) of Seattle and Theresa Rivera of Clovis; sons, Sonny Casaus (Bertina) of Albuquerque, Billy Casaus (Lucille) of Santa Rosa, Leroy Casaus of Santa Rosa, Ernesto Casaus of Albuquerque, Andy Casaus (Joann) of Albuquerque and Clyde VanOsdol of Gallup; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner.
Father Jerry Johnson is officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Casaus, Jimmy Casaus, Donald Casaus, Arthur Martinez, Bill Casaus Jr. and Dominic Casaus.
Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home of Clovis.
