June B. Ezell, 90, of Ponce Inlet, Fla., and formerly of Portales, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, Fla.
She was born June 1, 1915, in Clovis, to Charles and Leah Bieler. She grew up in the Texico/Farwell area and graduated from West Texas State Teachers College. She married Glenn M. Ezell in 1937. They moved to Portales in the late 1940s. She was a homemaker and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Portales, where she served as secretary to several ministers.
Following her husband’s death, she moved to Brandon, Fla., with her daughter and son-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Gaylon Stanfield; and sister, Anita Alsup.
Survivors include her son, Glenn Ezell of Roswell; daughter, Glenna Smith (and her husband, Bill) of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; grandchildren, Don Stanfield (Cindy), Richard Standfield and Sherri Frayer, all of Albuquerque, and Brent Smith of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Caitlin Stanfield and Stacia Frayer of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Genevieve Ezell of Bovina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Methodist Church in Portales or the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, Fla. 32129.
