Lavonia Hand, 92, of Clovis, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Laurel Plains Healthcare.
She was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Jim Wells County, Texas, to Proctor David and Emma Ethel Arrant Taylor. She married D.G. “Bub” Hand on Dec. 28, 1931, in Clovis.
She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their ranch. She was a former member of Altrusa, the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and was a member of Parkland Baptist Church.
She was an avid artist and oil painter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Fern Sanders (and husband, (Charles) of Texico; two sisters, Margie Hawkins and Ethel Copeland, both of Lodi, Calif.; two grandsons, Chris Sanders of Friona and Larry Sanders (Jane) of Benbrook, Texas; two great-granddaughters, Sacha Huber (Mike), and Summer Sanders, both of Benbrook, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Troy Lovell, J.D. Kelley, Bryce Bender, Chris Sanders, Mike Huber and Don Teague.
Larry Sanders and Pastor Doug Brooks will officiate.
Burial will follow at Friona Cemetery in Friona.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.
