Meissner, Calvin A.

Calvin A. Meissner, 73, of Muleshoe, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Harmonee House Nursing Home in Amherst.

He was born May 29, 1932, in Farwell. He married Gereta Gage in Lariat on April 6, 1974.

Mr. Meissner moved to Muleshoe in 1974 from Lariat. He graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in animal husbandry. He joined the Air Force during the Korean War and was discharged as a captain. He farmed and owned and operated the Lariat Gin. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Lariat.

Mr. Meissner is survived by his wife of Muleshoe, three stepsons, Raymand Davenport of Muleshoe, Marvin Davenport of New York City and Michael Davenport of Petal, Miss.; one stepdaughter, Pamela Davis of Shelton, Conn., two sisters, Agnes Aitken of Austin, Texas, and Janice Schroder, Mexico, Mo.; seven stepgrandchildren and one great-grandson.

Rev. David Symm willl officiate services. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery.

The family asks memorials be to St. John Lutheran Church, 725 CR DD, Farwell, Texas 79325.
