Jose Felipe Maestas, 88, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at his home.
He was born Aug. 23, 1917, to Donicio Maestas and Maria Martinez in Anton Chico. He married Maria Cordova in Santa Rosa. He was a railroader, worked for the city of Clovis and a self-employed carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his wife, a son, Willie Maestas, his parents Donicio and Maria Maestas, a brother and five sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Herman Maestas of Clovis and Eddie Maestas (and wife, Maria) of Pasadena, Calif.; seven daughters, Ida Jean Chavez (Boney), Mary Esther Rosas (Tony), Connie Mascarenas (Luis), Carmen Jimenez (Ramon) of Clovis, Mary Inez Hernandez (Jose Guadalupe) and Tina Favela, all of Clovis, and Christina Garcia (David) of San Antonio, Texas; 37 grand-children and 21 great grand-children.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The family will meet at 501 E. 21st St.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate services.
Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be Robert Gonzales, Richard Garcia, Mark Rosas, Johnny Mascarenas, Raul Gutierrez and Joseph Pedroza.
