Mrs. Maria del Carmen Marquez Sandoval, 98, of Clovis, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 10, 1907, in La Loma, to Onofre and Mariana Griego Marquez. Family members said she loved to dance, was happy for all of her life and dearly loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Secundino Sandoval; a brother, George Marquez; and two sisters, Ana Maria Saiz, and Francisca Lucero.
She is survived by six daughters, Pauline Nino (and husband, Bennie) of Amarillo, Rita Romero (Joe) of Albuquerque, Trinnie Lucero of Clovis, Virginia Quintana (Manuel) of Clovis, Carmen Rael (Severo) of Clovis and Lorrie Sandoval of Clovis; a son, Manuel Sandoval (Tina) of Albuquerque; 28 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Sandoval, Joey Romero, Alfonso Sandoval, Bruno Gasbarro, Shayn Boyd and Paul Sandoval.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Steed-Todd Chapel.
Father Carlos Chavez will officiate services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis
