Edith M. Johnson, 85, of Friona, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at Prairie Acres Nursing Home in Friona.
She was born April 5, 1920, in Ringling, Okla., to David and Eva Blanche (Collier) Moseley. Moving from Oklahoma, she lived in Friona for 79 years. She married Herschel Winston Johnson on Sept. 26, 1942, in Clovis. He died Aug. 3, 1988.
She was a member of the Friona United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Barbara Ann Johnson on Jan. 27, 1952, and Karol Sue Johnson on May 8, 1953.
She is survived by one son, Joe Bob Johnson of Friona; one daughter, Linda Kay VanValkenburg of Englewood, Colo.; two brothers, Hugh and Jack Moseley both of Farwell, and six grandchildren.
The Rev. Steve Patterson will officiate services. Burial will be in the Friona Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to Friona Meals on Wheels.
