Buckle names new store manager
Windy Wagner has been named manager of the Buckle in North Plains Mall, according to a press release from the corporation.

A graduate of West Texas A&M University, she began her career with the company in 2005, the release said.

The North Plains Mall location is one of 340 Buckle stores that sell fashion apparel for young men and women, the release said.

Business named in Franchise 500
A glass repair and replacement provider with a Clovis operation has been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 and Top Global Franchises lists, according to a news release from the company.

The Glass Doctor, the nation’s largest chain of glass replacement shops, also ranked the “Best of the Best” in the home repair category, the release said.

“We pride ourselves on providing top-notch service, so it’s rewarding and humbling to have the Glass Doctor franchise team acknowledged like this,” Gene Porter, owner of the Clovis Glass Doctor franchise, was quoted as saying in the news release.

Company requesting electric proposals
Xcel Energy is requesting proposals for 250 to 500 megawatts of new electric power to serve customers in eastern New Mexico and parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas by 2008 or 2009, according to a news release from the company.

“One megawatt of electricity serves the needs of about 1,000 homes, or the needs of the residences, businesses and industrial customers in a community with a population of about 1,000,” said Gary L. Gibson in the release. Gibson is president and CEO of Xcel Energy’s operating subsidiary Southwestern Public Service company, which issued the request for proposals.

Notice of intend to bid forms are due March 20, and proposals April 17. Bidders can propose contracts of five, 10, 15 or 20 years, the release said. More information is available at xcelenergy.com.

Xcel is the fourth-largest combination natural gas and electricity company in the nation, the release said.
