Darrel Wayne Burch, 63, of Lubbock, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006.
He was born March 26, 1942, in Clovis to Johnny Edward Burch and Nora Miller. He married Viola Verona Coplen on June 15, 1985, in Lubbock, Texas.
He was a member of Skyline Baptist Church and a licensed Baptist preacher. He attended school in Clovis and Muleshoe.
He worked at Fenner Tubbs Chrysler Plymouth as the manager of the body shop, at Bob Gardner Chevrolet in Plainview and University Dodge in Lubbock. He also set type at several local newspapers, including the Clovis News Journal, Levelland Daily Herald, Muleshoe Journal, Pampa Daily News and Plainview Daily Herald.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife; mother, Nora Burch; a daughter, Cindy Matthews (and husband, Craig) of Midland, Texas; a brother, Ronald Burch (Gloria) of High Rolls; two grandchildren, Jacob and Kimberly Matthews; and a niece and nephew.
Syl Moore will officiate services with Ruben Osuna assisting.
Interment will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at White Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (CST) Friday.
