LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Junior first baseman Antonio Siqueiros belted a first-inning grand slam and New Mexico Highlands never looked back in a 17-5 victory over Eastern New Mexico University on Tuesday.

Highlands (16-13) had five innings of three or more runs and collected 19 hits against five ENMU pitchers in handing the Greyhounds their 12th setback in the last 13 games. ENMU finished with 10 hits, including a 3-for-5 performance by right fielder Justin Gee.

The Hounds (17-16) cut a 7-0 deficit after two innings to 7-4 with three runs in the top of the sixth on RBI singles by Gee, Mike McDuffie and Tim Crafton. The Cowboys, though, responded with three in the bottom of the inning against Kelly Crain, including one on an error and another on a balk.

Highlands got a two-run double from Jonathan Dees in a three-run seventh, then put the game completely out of reach with a four-run eighth.

Francisco Hernandez, Nate Moore-Ness and Dees had three-hit games for the Cowboys, with Dees scoring four runs and driving in three. Siqueiros collected a fifth RBI on a double in the second inning, and finished the game 2-for-4.
