Student profile: Tanner Fickling

Tanner Fickling is a senior at the Clovis High School. He is the son of Mark and Lisa Fickling.

What’s your idea of a perfect day? Fly fishing in beaver ponds while it is pouring rain.

What’s so great about your favorite sport? Football: Running out on Leon Williams Stadium on a Friday night in front of lights and screaming fans.

What do you envision your life being like in 10 years? Married with a family and working on a wildlife ranch.

Tell us about your greatest individual accomplishment: Rushing for 274 yards and touchdowns in the Las Cruces High playoff game.

What is your most prized possession? My pickup.

Honors received: 2005 Joe Newton Fightingest Wildcat Offensive Back, 2005 District 4-5A 1,600-meter and 800-meter relay champion, third place in the medley and 1600 relay at state, state runnerup in football 2004, 2005

Church/community activities: Member of the Central Baptist Church

Hobbies: Playing sports, hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends, working on vehicles.

Future plans: Attend ENMU and major in wildlife biology while playing football and track
